Flow Operation: Send SMS

It is essential for any business to notify about any event or transactions to the user, employee, or customers. SMS has been in the market for ages and helping business run the campaigns or notification for event or transaction.

Integrating SMS in the app is not an easy process. It requires expertise to build such app and integrate. With this operation, we are easing the process of SMS integration with flexible solution. Some easy steps can help integrating SMS in the flow.

For SMS integration, it is required to have Service Provider. User can bring their own SMS Service Provider and integrate it on our platform. To integrate the provider, checkout https://blog.oarkflow.com/integrate-sms-service-provider/

After the integration, the next step is to use the Send SMS operation in the flow. For the purpose, drag the Send SMS operation from left to the right canvas.

Click on Setting icon to open Setting Panel for the operation. Here user is required to choose the service provider for SMS that was created from above.

After the service provider is chosen, some basic information need to be provided.

Recipient Phone field – Select the field from the dropdown. SMS will be sent to this number

Sender – Sender name or number of the user while sending SMS

SMS Message – This field is required for sending SMS. User can pass the fields as merge fields using placeholders. Placeholder is represented by name between {{ and }}

Callback URL – User might want to receive the status of each SMS. So add the valid URL to receive the status from the service provider.

Default Country – The recipient phone in the data might contain only phone number and not country code. So this field will help choose the default country for such phone number.

Request Structure – This field is visible once the Service Provider is selected. Each provider has its own way of sending SMS. This field provide the request structure in JSON. User need to provide the placeholder instead of actual data in the field.
