While cleaning the data or transferring the data from one machine to another, it is essential to make sure the data is in correct format. If the data is not in correct format, target machine will not be able to process the data.
This operation will transform such data from one pattern to another pattern. User has to provide the source pattern and destination pattern and the field name for destination pattern.
Click on Setting icon to open Setting Panel for the operation. Here user needs to provide
- Source Pattern
- Destination Pattern
- Field name for generated field
For example, data has a field name that has value Mr Doe, John. User wants to change the pattern to Mr. John Doe. User need to select the field name from dropdown and provide the source pattern and destination pattern.
Note: any pattern is recognized by key within Lesser Than (<) and Greater Than (>) symbols
So, the source pattern in above case would be Mr <last_name>, <first_name> and the destination pattern would be Mr. <first_name> <last_name> and the field name might be formatted_name as shown in the image below.
